What is ShredOS (nwipe)?
ShredOS is a small free operating system that boots from USB and starts nwipe, an interactive whole-disk wiper. It works on PCs, servers and Intel Macs, with BIOS or UEFI, and can save PDF erasure certificates and logs to the USB stick.
It also documents how to run the built-in Sanitize / Secure Erase commands for SSDs and NVMe drives. Double-check which disk you select — wiping cannot be undone.
