What is Eraser?
Eraser is a free, open-source Windows tool that overwrites files, folders and unused disk space so deleted data cannot be recovered with normal tools. You can schedule tasks or erase from the right-click menu.
On SSDs, file-level overwriting is less reliable because of wear-levelling; for SSDs, the drive's own secure-erase function is usually the better option.
